The Ask

Female solo travelers often face challenges finding reliable information, safety guidance, and like-minded peers while traveling, making it harder to feel supported and connected.

The Design

Created a community-driven web platform where users can share experiences, access safety tips, discover events, and connect with other travelers. The platform fosters friendship, knowledge sharing, and confidence, helping solo travelers feel supported throughout their journeys.

the development

The platform was built as a community-focused website with features including user-generated blogs, event listings, and safety resources. I designed intuitive navigation and interaction flows to make connecting, sharing, and discovering content seamless. Iterative testing with target users informed refinements to ensure the experience felt safe, engaging, and supportive.

the takeaway

This project strengthened my skills in designing for community and social connection. I learned how to create digital spaces that balance safety, engagement, and usability, and how thoughtful design can foster meaningful interactions and support among diverse users.
